BTS wins 2 awards at “2021 MTV Video Music Awards Japan”

BTS won 2 awards at the “2021 MTV Video Music Awards Japan” (hereinafter referred to as “2021 MTV VMAJ”).

According to an announcement on the official website of “MTV VMAJ” on October 29, BTS was awarded the “Best Group Video/International” at this year’s awards ceremony for “Butter“. The group also took home the “Best Collaboration Video/International” for their collaboration song “My Universe” with Coldplay

BTS 2021 MTV Video Music Awards Japan

This is the 4th consecutive year that BTS won an award at “MTV VMAJ“. Starting from the “Best Group Video/International” in 2018, 7 boys grabbed the “Best Buzz Award” in 2019 as well as the “Best Group Video/International” with “Dynamite” in 2020. This is also the first time the group won 2 categories a year. 

BTS 2021 MTV Video Music Awards Japan

2021 MTV VMAJ” selected the best works in a total of 18 categories among music videos released from October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021. They will broadcast a special episode about award-winning music videos from 9 PM on November 3. Then, the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 25 and air on MTV JAPAN at 7 PM on December 18. Meanwhile, “MTV VMAJ” is the Japanese version of “MTV VMA“, the largest music awards ceremony in the United States. It has been held annually since 2002.
