BTS Jin reportedly surpassed 33 million Shazams with only 8 solo songs. He also became the first K-pop solo artist in history to achieve it.
In particular, Jin’s first solo single “The Astronaut” has gained over 15.51 million Shazams, making it the first K-pop song to reach the milestone. Surpassing the previous record of 13.14 million Shazams held by Jin’s OST “Yours”, “The Astronaut” has become the most shazamed song in K-pop history. Dominating both the first and second spots on the Shazam chart, Jin has once again solidified his position as a top soloist.
Together with “Epiphany” (1.27 million), “Moon” (1.18 million), “Awake” (870,000), “Tonight” (550,000), “Abyss” (410,000) and “SuperTuna” (100,000), Jin successfully secured the record of being the first and only K-pop solo artist to record a cumulative number of 33 million Shazams.
Last year, “Yours” also held the top spot on Shazam “Global Top 200” chart for 102 days.
As soon as it was released, the song topped the Shazam “Global TOP 200” chart for a total of 129 days, setting a new record as the longest No.1-charting K-pop song in 2022. Jin also set an unprecedented record of ranking first for 60 consecutive days, showcasing his extraordinary brand power.
As such, Jin is the only soloist in K-pop history to have two solo songs reaching No.1 on this chart.
