BTS Jimin: “tested positive → appendicitis surgery, inpatient treatment for the time being”

Jimin, a member of BTS, is recovering after undergoing appendicitis surgery after being confirmed to be tested positive for the current pandemic’s virus.

BTS‘s agency Big Hit Music said on the official fan community platform Weverse on January 31, “Jimin felt a sudden stomach ache with mild sore throat symptoms on the afternoon of Jan 30th, so he visited the emergency room of a nearby hospital for PCR test and detailed examination. As a result, he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis (cerebral inflammation) along with the positive PCR test result. He underwent surgery early on Jan 31st at the recommendation of medical staff that a surgery was necessary.”

Jimin is recovering after completing the appendicitis surgery well. The agency said, “We plan to conduct hospitalization treatment for Jimin for the time being. He still has mild sore throat symptoms, but those are improving. There was no contact between him and other members during the period when it was judged that the virus can be transmissible.”

Prior to Jimin, BTS members Suga, Jin, and RM were also infected with the virus, but were diagnosed with a complete recovery in early January.
