On the morning of February 26, a production press conference for “Boyfriend on Demand” was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun in Jongno, Seoul. Actress Jisoo, actor Seo In Guk, and director Kim Jung Sik attended the event.

“Boyfriend on Demand” is a romantic comedy about Mi Rae (played by Jisoo), a webtoon producer exhausted by real life who subscribes to and experiences romance through a virtual dating simulation—bringing her dream love story to life.

Director Kim Jung Sik revealed that Jisoo’s role is central to the series. “Within one project, there are different themes and character variations, but Jisoo appears in more than 95% of the scenes,” he explained.

He continued, “We gave her diverse settings and characters to portray, and she handled all of them. She worked incredibly hard and proved that hard work can beat talent. On set, she was so dedicated and did an excellent job. We started filming with smiles and ended with smiles. I was so impressed that I even wanted to recruit her as an assistant director—I’d love to work with her in the directing team because of how hardworking she is.

The director also shared his thoughts on casting Seo In Guk. “If you watch the series until the end, there will be discussions about why Seo In Guk had to be cast,” he said confidently. “Even on days he didn’t have filming, he came to set to rehearse with Jisoo. As a senior actor, he knows how to guide his junior co-star and is very considerate toward his scene partners. When necessary, he’s willing to sacrifice himself so the other actor can shine. He’s a true professional.

With strong praise from the director and growing anticipation from fans, “Boyfriend on Demand” is set to premiere on Netflix on March 6.
