In a rare move within the K-pop industry, BOYFRIEND is making a full-group comeback under their original name.
It’s uncommon for K-pop groups to reunite with all original members after leaving their agency. Legal rights, trademark ownership, and differing career paths often prevent such reunions or force groups to promote under a new name.

A notable example is HIGHLIGHT, formerly known as BEAST, who had to rebrand after departing their agency.
One of the few groups to overcome these challenges is GOT7. After leaving JYP Entertainment in 2021, all members pursued individual careers but later reunited for group releases in 2022 and 2024 while retaining their original name.
Thanks in part to leader Jay B, GOT7 secured the rights to their group identity, becoming a groundbreaking case in the industry.

Originally debuting in 2011 under Starship Entertainment, BOYFRIEND gained attention as the first K-pop group to feature twin members and built a steady fanbase through Korean and Japanese promotions.
However, in 2019, the group officially disbanded.
For their 10th anniversary, the members reunited under the name “BF” and released the track “Ending Credit,” which many initially believed marked a final farewell. Contrary to expectations, the group continued activities eventually returning to the name BOYFRIEND for their Japanese single album “Time Limit.”

Now, celebrating their 15th anniversary, BOYFRIEND has officially announced a Korean comeback alongside the 2026 BOYFRIEND Fan Concert: Our 15th Season.
This marks their first Korean release in years and a significant milestone in their journey.
With this comeback, BOYFRIEND joins GOT7 as one of the very few K-pop groups to:
- Leave their original agency
- Reunite with all debut members
- Promote again under their original group name
In an industry where reunions are often incomplete or rebranded, BOYFRIEND’s return stands out as both rare and meaningful offering fans a full-circle moment years in the making.
