BoA, Jessi, HyunA, what’s over-lip? From malicious comments about appearance to plastic surgery rumors

Returning to the small screen after 7 years, singer BoA has been engulfed in criticism of her appearance. BoA, who plays the role of Oh Yura in tvN’s drama “Marry My Husband”, met viewers as actress BoA for the first time in about 7 years since JTBC’s drama “Listen to Love”. Since Oh Yura played a villainous role in the original work, fans of the original and drama fans alike eagerly awaited Oh Yura’s appearance.

However, criticism of BoA’s appearance has emerged. Some viewers pointed out that her lips, among other features, looked unnatural. In response, BoA addressed the issue in a live broadcast, “These days, many people seem interested in my appearance. I have a habit of biting my lips. So it seems swollen. Many people are worried about my lips, but they’re fine. You don’t have to worry. My lips are fine.“

The over-lip controversy is not new among celebrities. Earlier, singers HyunA and Jessi were embroiled in controversies over over-lips when they showcased new makeup styles, but instead got caught up in plastic surgery rumors.

Jessi addressed the over-lip issue on a variety show, “People think I’ve put on a lot of lip fillers. I had a lip filler in the past, but it’s just leftover. Every time I came out, they said I became a monster. I don’t have time to get more lip fillers. I want to, but I don’t have time.“

Jessi said that she drew overline lips with a lip liner, adding, “My lips will become three times bigger. I can do it even with my eyes closed.”

HyunA also found herself on the chopping block due to over-lip. HyunA was embroiled in controversy over surgery due to her lips looking unusually thick while leaving for an overseas schedule.

HyunA expressed her thoughts, “Sometimes my eye makeup is light, sometimes I draw my lips big, sometimes I make my makeup dark. I like that I have many opportunities to transform every day.”
