Singer BoA will share meaningful communication with K-POP artists.
JTBC’s new music program “Music Universe K-909”, which is scheduled to premiere on Sep 24th, presents music that fans can trust and enjoy as well as becomes a dream stage for artists. A differentiated stage is coming where K-POP artists, who have become the center of the global music market, can receive full attention.
Amid soaring expectations for the first broadcast, a behind-the-scenes video containing MC BoA’s 9 questions and 9 answers was released on Sep 9th. The candid stories revealed by BoA, an icon of K-POP, further stimulates curiosity about the music world that “Music Universe K-909” will contain.
BoA said, “It’s my first time being the MC of a music program. I feel both excited and nervous.” She picked BLACKPINK as the artist she wants to meet on “Music Universe K-909” and smilingly explained, “Their performance at Coachella was inspiring. I hope I get to see them.”
When asked “Which of the younger artist that has done a cover of your song do you remember the most?”, she chose Baekhyun with “Garden in the air”.
She revealed the reason, “It felt really new to hear a male singer do my song.” She also said that the artist she’d like to do a collab with is Lee Young-ji.
BoA added, “I’ve come to like her lately. She’s so good at dancing, so I think it’d be fun to do a collab stage.” BoA, who recommended “Only One” and “Disturbance” as her songs she would like to recommend for the fall, explained, “Both have that moody vibe that goes well with the fall.”
Michael Jackson is the artist who inspires BoA the most. BoA said, “He’s the artist I look up to the most. His performance is perfect and I always watch him when I feel unconfident in myself every now and then.” If there was a time machine, BoA would like to go to the year 2222. When asked “Do you think people of 2222 would listen to your songs?”, BoA joked tactfully, “If my songs go that long, I think they’ll be like folklore music. But if my song does last, I hope it’ll be ‘No.1’.”
BoA revealed that she tried to see how people lead the show after becoming the host of “Music Universe K-909”. To the question “Do you have an MC you’d like to be like?”, she replied, “I’d like to be like Kim Sung-joo. I think he’s the best when I watch ‘King of Mask Singer’. I think the only person who can pull off what he does is only him.”
Finally, BoA said, “It’s my first time being an MC so things won’t be perfect. But I’ll do my best to introduce you to great music and performances, so please send your love and support.”
Meanwhile, the first broadcast of “Music Universe K-909” will feature NCT 127, Crush, NMIXX, Chung Ha & Christopher. The first episode will air at 4:40 PM on Sep 24th.
