BLACKPINK’s World Tour Finale: Will It Be Their Last Seoul Concert?

Will BLACKPINK continue to stay with YG after their world tour finale at Gocheok Dome, surpassing the “seven years jinx”?

BLACKPINK will hold ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] FINALE IN SEOUL’ at Gocheok Sky Dome on September 16th and 17th. This concert holds a special meaning as it marks the end of BLACKPINK’s unprecedented world tour that drew 1.5 million fans in 41 cities worldwide, which started in October 2022.

BLACKPINK has prepared a completely different setlist and stage from their first Seoul concert in 2022. It includes a version inspired by their performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which received acclaim for its unique Korean beauty.

This concert may also hold another meaning for BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK celebrated their 7th debut anniversary on August 8 this year. However, even after one month has passed since then, YG and BLACKPINK have not yet reached a final agreement on their contract renewal. Contractually, even if the expiration date has passed, it is possible to consider and fulfill valid contract schedules set before the expiration date.

Over the years, BLACKPINK managed to make a small number of releases become hits while showing off their synergy that not only elevated the group but also highlighted the individual charms of each member. BLACKPINK also showcased their presence through the highest number of YouTube channel subscribers, individual Instagram followers, and as global ambassadors for luxury brands.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK hit a career high this year. Following their 2nd full album ‘THE ALBUM,’ BLACKPINK achieved the first-ever Billboard 200 chart No.1 for a K-pop girl group, followed by topping the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100. They achieved tremendous success not just as celebrities but as a global artist. Therefore, both fans and the entertainment industry are eagerly anticipating BLACKPINK’s future.

Since their successful concert in Paris, France, with an audience of 55,000 in July, there has been subtle speculation about BLACKPINK and YG’s future while they continue to make headlines. Whether BLACKPINK’s journey with YG will continue remains a subject of interest.
