BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” MV and Rosé’s “On The Ground” choreography video hit hundreds of millions of views again

The music video of BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” and the choreography video of Rosé’s “On The Ground” has surpassed yet another milestone on YouTube.

According to YG Entertainment on April 8th, BLACKPINK‘s “Shut Down” MV exceeded 400 million views on YouTube at 7:24 AM (KST) on the same day. After 204 days of release, it became the 17th video of BLACKPINK to reach 400 million views.

The choreography video of “On The Ground” also achieved 100 million views on YouTube at 10:21 PM the previous day (April 7th). It has been about 2 years since it was released on March 23rd, 2021. As this is the group’s 40th video to hit hundreds of millions of views, it is possible to predict fans’ unrelenting interest in BLACKPINK’s performances.

BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK has recently shown a steep increase in both YouTube views and subscribers. Whenever a new song is released, regardless of team or solo, BLACKPINK’s global influence on YouTube only expanded. It is analyzed that Jisoo’s solo debut on March 31st served as a catalyst to such increases.

In fact, on April 7th, Lisa’s “LALISA” music video and “MONEY” exclusive performance video respectively exceeded 600 million and 800 million views, much earlier than expected. The number of subscribers to the official YouTube channel is over 86.2 million.

BLACKPINK

On the other hand, BLACKPINK is currently conducting “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]”, the largest world tour of a K-pop girl group, with about 1.5 million attendees. The four members, who successfully completed 14 North American concerts in 7 cities and 10 European concerts in 7 cities last year, are currently touring around Asia to meet more fans.

In addition, they will perform as a headliner at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S. in April and the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival in the U.K. in July.
