BLACKPINK’s Rosé Talked About The Importance Of Mental Health In Front Of APEC First Ladies

Rosé attended the APEC summit and talked about the importance of being honest about mental health

Rosé participated in a mental health event hosted by First Lady Jill Biden, the wife of U.S. President Joe Biden, on November 17th (local time).

The event, held at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, was operated for the spouses of the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit countries and was designed to promote the seriousness of mental health problems and call for attention.

Jill Biden introduced Rosé as a global superstar who uses her position as a good force for the world, thanking Rosé for accepting her invitation.

On this day, Rosé said she feels vulnerable when the public cares about her on social media, especially when criticizing her.

Rosé said that she felt like what she did was never enough. No matter how hard she tried, there was always someone who has their own opinions or enjoyed leading the narrative (about her). The singer believed it was important to have a conversation about this problem, no matter how hard it was. Rosé compared food for physical health and training with mental health, saying it could be maintained only when we paid more attention.

Jill Biden stressed that we hid, kept and ignored these (mental health) problems, but only when we revealed them and speak frankly could we begin to heal.
