BLACKPINK’s Jennie is joining a domestic entertainment show
On Oct 5th, entertainment industry insiders told Sports Chosun, “BLACKPINK’s Jennie will join tvN’s new variety program ‘Apartment 404’ (working title).” “Apartment 404” is a new variety program created by PD Jeong Cheol-min, who previously worked with Jennie on “Village Survival, the Eight”. Produced by PD Jeong Cheol-min, who is known for his numerous “mission” programs, “Apartment 404” will take place against the backdrop of an apartment complex and is expected to showcase his unique style.
PD Jeong Cheol-min, one of the leading PDs who led the revival of “Running Man”, successfully created the “Sixth Sense” series and “The Skip Dating” after moving to CJ ENM, earning the support of viewers. Especially since he worked with Jennie before on “Village Survival, the Eight”, their perfect chemistry is anticipated. Viewers are looking forward to seeing a completely new side of Jennie that could not be seen through BLACKPINK’s activities.
Jennie’s collaboration with Yoo Jae-suk is also raising expectations. Yoo Jae-suk, who has previous experience working with Jennie on “Village Survival, the Eight”, is expected to bring out 100% of Jennie’s charm as the recipient of the Best Male Entertainer award at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards. The reunion of these two after 5 years could bring a refreshing dynamic to the show.
Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, one of the world’s leading girl groups, has also shown her solo prowess beyond Korea. Her solo stage “You & Me”, which amazed everyone during BLACKPINK’s world tour, will be officially released on Oct 6th. BLACKPINK members have been active in both solo and group activities recently. Lisa recently appeared in the famous 19-rated adult show “Crazy Horse” in Paris, while Jisoo and Rosé are also busy with their individual activities.
“Apartment 404” is currently in the process of recruiting guests and is scheduled to air on tvN in the first half of next year.
