As of January 29th, Jennie has 61.7 million Instagram followers, maintaining her position with the most followers among Korean female celebrities. The number of followers on a celebrity’s Instagram account shows his/her popularity as a measure of the celebrity’s recognition.
Other BLACKPINK members’ follower number are noticeable as well. Jisoo gathered 55.5 million followers, followed by Rosé with 54.7 million followers.
IU still remains strong among Korean celebrities as well. IU ranked fourth with 24.8 million followers. Actor Jung Ho-yeon, who made great impression around the world with the Netflix drama “Squid Game,” recently attracted 23.6 million followers, following IU.
Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon (17.7 million), singer and actress Suzy (17.2 million), singer and actress Hyuna (17.2 million), actress Lee Sung-kyung (13.2 million), actress Park Shin-hye (13.2 million), Red Velvet’s Joy (13.1 million), singer Jeon So-mi (13.1 million), Girls’ Generation member Yoona (12.7 million), actor Kim So-hyun (11.8 million), Red Velvet’s Seulgi (11.3 million) are among those who have more than 10 million followers on Instagram.
