BLACKPINK’s Jennie became the first-ever Korean soloist to achieve this on Spotify

Not IU – the most followed Kpop female soloist on Spotify, BLACKPINK’s Jennie is the owner of this impressive record.

Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services. Kpop idols also have millions of followers, streams and downloads on this platform. Among Kpop solo acts, IU is the only female artist to make it into the Top 5 most-followed soloists on Spotify.

Despite having a large number of followers, IU is outranked by BLACKPINK members in terms of stream count. Recently, Jennie became the first solo K-pop artist to have a song exceeding 350 million streams on Spotify.

Having over 6.3 million followers, but IU has yet to have a song that surpassed 200 million streams.

Moreover, although she started having a solo profile on Spotify in September 2021, Lisa is about to catch up with Jennie with her solo track MONEY, which has recorded more than 348 million streams.  With many impressive records being set, Spotify promises to see more fierce competition between soloists from BLACKPINK and “digital queen” IU
