BLACKPINK proved to be the top artist on Youtube with 70 million subscribers

It has been announced that BLACKPINK’s official Youtube channel recently hit 70 million subscribers.

BLACKPINK, the four-member group consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, has gained more than 70 million subscribers on their official Youtube channel, drawing attention once again as the “best Youtube user in the world”. This is a milestone that BLACKPINK achieved 5 years after their debut and is also the first and highest record among all artists in the world.

According to YG Entertainment on November 28th, the number of subscribers on BLACKPINK’s official channel exceeded 70 million at 11:34 A.M that day. The girl group once surprised global fans in July 2020 when they became the first non-English-speaking artist to be named in the ‘TOP 5 Youtube channels with the most subscribers”. Since then, they have gradually surpassed many famous pop stars, such as Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmello, Justin Bieber, etc., and finally became the No.1 on September 10th.

Since its opening on June 28th, 2016, BLACKPINK’s channel has developed rapidly. It gained millions of new Youtube subscribers every time BLACKPINK released a new song regardless of group or solo activities. Lisa recently debuted solo with album ‘LALISA’ and attracted over 5 million new subscribers. BLACKPINK has earned a total of 32 billion views on their Youtube channel alone. Representatively, the music video of “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, the title song of their first mini-album ‘SQUARE UP’ released in 2018, has surpassed 1.7 billion views, breaking its own record for the most viewed MV of KPOP groups. In addition, other music videos with high views are “Kill This Love” (1.4 billion views), “BOOMBAYAH” (1.3 billion views), “As If It’s Your Last (1.2 billion views), and “How You Like That” (1 billion views).
