BLACKPINK Officially Renewed Contract With YG For Group Activities

Girl group BLACKPINK has extended their contracts with YG Entertainment to continue doing group activities

On December 6th, YG Entertainment released an official announcement, saying “We have completed the resolution of the board of directors regarding the signing of the exclusive group contract for all four members of BLACKPINK”.

YG Entertainment’s CEO and producer, Yang Hyun-suk, expressed, “I am pleased to continue the connection with BLACKPINK. Moving forward, BLACKPINK, as not only our agency’s artist but also as representatives of K-POP, will make even more dazzling contributions to the global music market. We will exert our best efforts to support their journey, sending unwavering support and trust in their endeavors.”

As a result, YG has protected its largest IP (intellectual property).

The YG’s girl group BLACKPINK made their debut on August 8th, 2016 with the double titles “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH”. As soon as their debut, the four members, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, created a sensation for both their skills and visuals.
