BLACKPINK joining the ranks of Beyoncé? To enter Europe stadium with 80,000 people capacity

BLACKPINK will follow the footsteps of Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna to perform at a stadium that can accommodate 80,000 people.

On March 23rd, YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as YG) posted an encore poster of “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]” on BLACKPINK’s official SNS. According to this poster, BLACKPINK plans to hold an additional concert in Paris on July 15th.

The Paris encore concert will be held at Stade De France, the largest concert venue in France. Compared to the concert held at the Accor Arena in Paris last December, the scale has expanded more than twice, making BLACKPINK the first K-pop female artist to enter a European stadium, which can accommodate over 80,000 people.

In particular, this venue has previously hosted global pop stars such as Beyoncé, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna, and the fact that BLACKPINK is joining these ranks once again highlights the group’s strong global status and ticket selling power.

At the same time, YG also raised fans’ expectations by stating, “As this is a meaningful concert to reunite with local fans, we will present a stage with an even higher level of perfection,” raising fans’ expectations.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with their first single album “SQUARE ONE”. Since then, the group have released numerous hit songs such as “Playing with Fire”, “As If It’s Your Last”, “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Kill This Love”, “How You Like That”, and most recently, “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down”.

Recently, BLACKPINK have been conducting the largest-scale world tour for a K-pop girl group, attracting about 1.5 million audiences. After successfully completing 14 North American performances in seven cities and an European tour with ten performances in seven cities last year, BLACKPINK is now performing in Asia and meeting even more fans.
