Bi Rain poured almost 1 million USD into his Kpop group Ciipher

Bi Rain formed an entertainment agency and debuted the boy group Ciipher back in 2021, even hand picking each of the 7 members.

On the May 9th episode of tvN’s program “Take Good Care of My Week”, the famous singer Rain, along with Ciipher member Tan appeared as special guests. On the show, Rain was asked how much money he invested to debut a group, to which the star replied: “I could have bought a house with that money.”

However, Rain also shared that he did not regret such massive investment, and that he was confident of Tan’s prospects, saying: “In two to three years, the public will go like, ‘That’s TAN from the show years ago?!’ I’m certain that day will come.”

According to Wikitree, the average price of an apartment in Seoul, as of August 2021, could amount to 1.19 billion won, or almost 1 million USD. This means Rain spent close to 1 million USD on Ciipher.

After earning great successes as an singer-actor, Rain founded J.Tune Entertainment in 2007. The artist later debuted the boy group MBLAQ, before selling his company in 2010. In 2015, Rain founded his second agency – RAIN Company.

Ciipher debuted under RAIN company in 2021, with 7 members carefully selected by Rain himself, including Tan, Hwi, Hyunbin, Keita, Tag, Dohwan, and Won. Most of them spurned from survival shows like YG Treasure Box, No Mercy, Produce X 101, and Under Nineteen.

The group released their first track “I Like You” on March 15th, 2021, and until now, hasn’t managed to make a deep impression. Recently on May 11th, they dropped their 3rd mini album “The Code.”
