Best New Actress Joo Hyun-young “I’m so happy to receive the award in front of my teacher Kim Jong-tae”

On December 30th, the “2023 MBC Drama Awards” took place at MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Park Jung-yeon and Joo Hyun-young received Best New Actress. Park Jung-yeon shared her thoughts, “I learned a lot from many seniors who worked together with me in ‘My Dearest’. Every moment, I promised myself to become a good person. As a New Year’s wish for 2023, I prayed that I’d have the strength to stand up if I felt tired. Meeting good seniors allowed me to learn that strength. Thanks to the staff who worked hard together with me through all four seasons.”

Joo Hyun-young said, “I thank the production team for allowing me to portray Sa-wol. Our drama featured many wonderful seniors who took responsibility for the laughter and tears of the viewers. I had memorable days where I could live, breathe, learn and proudly make a name for myself with those seniors within one piece of work. Despite my lack of experience and immaturity, the staff who genuinely cherished and loved Sa-wol helped her come to life more vividly.“

She added, “I want to express my gratitude to Senior Se-young, In-hyuk, Senior Bok-rae, Seon-ho. I learned acting from Teacher Kim Jong-tae, who is sitting in front of me today. I’m so happy that such a day has come. Thank you, Teacher.” She then became emotional, with tears in her eyes.
