Behind story about Lim Ji Yeon’s jjajangmyeon scene in “Lies Hidden in My Garden” revealed, “She ate 4 bowls”

Actress Lim Ji Yeon tried hard to complete the famous ‘husband’s death meal’ eating scene in “Lies Hidden in My Garden”.

Lim Ji Yeon is currently starring in Genie TV’s thriller drama “Lies Hidden in My Garden” as pregnant woman Chu Sang Eun. Suffering poverty and her husband’s domestic violence, this character meets Joo Ran (Kim Tae Hee), a woman who lives a contrasting life, and faces a turning point in her life.

After “Lies Hidden in My Garden” aired on June 20th, Lim Ji Yeon drew attention with the scene where she rushed to eat jjajangmyeon after her husband Kim Yoon Beom (Choi Jae Rim) died out of a sudden.

Lim Ji Yeon’s eating scene after receiving the news of the husband’s death made headlines and received compliments from viewers, resulting in the ironic keyword “husband’s death meal” becoming a trend. After seeing Lim Ji Yeon’s acting, many people also ordered jjajangmyeon and posted on social media calling it “husband’s death meal”.

According to Lim Ji Yeon’s agency, the actress ate about four bowls of jjajangmyeon with a large-sized tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork) when filming this scene. Although she didn’t finish all the food on the set, viewers were still amazed to know the considerable amount of jjajangmyeon she ate for the scene.

It is said that Lim Ji Yeon, who is known to eat well in real life, ate even more “enthusiastically” for this particular scene without holding herself back. Thanks to that, she was able to create a memorable scene that effectively showcased Sang Eun’s subtle emotions and left a great impression on viewers.

Meanwhile, “Lies Hidden in My Garden” is a suspense thriller about two women, who live completely different lives, meeting each other and facing unexpected events due to a suspicious smell coming from the backyard. It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA.
