BamBam “JYP let us use the name GOT7. JYP is a really good company”

BamBam showed his affection for his group GOT7, as well as his gratitude for the previous agency JYP.

On March 28th, a video titled “Let me explain. I didn’t date Nayeon” was uploaded on the YouTube channel “1theK Originals”.

BamBam, who released his first solo full-length album “Sour & Sweet”, appeared in the video. Here, BamBam looked at the comments left on GOT7‘s album on the music site.

BamBam, who found a comment saying “It was so fun to watch GOT7 as a fan back in 2016”, sadly said, “You could still watch us as our fan now. It’s still fun to do that even now.”

To the comment “Guys, I’d cheer for you guys quietly no matter which path you’d take. I wanna say I was so grateful for you guys for the past 7 years”, BamBam reassured fans, “We’re still promoting ourselves as GOT7. It’s like I’m giving a farewell notice. I guess it was when I came out of JYP around that time. I’m making this comment because they’re feeling unsettled. Please don’t worry, it’s fine.”

He then looked at the reactions to “Nanana”, the title of “Got7”, the first album released by GOT7 after leaving JYP. BamBam said, “As GOT7, we feel so proud and satisfied with this album.”

BamBam also explained, “So many people said ‘Thank you so much for not disbanding the group’ and ‘I wonder how you guys get to use that name’. So we have got all the rights to the name of GOT7, that’s why we’re able to do that. And JYP has also done a great job in cooperating with us. That’s why we could buy our name.”

He continued, “To be honest, there are many bad companies. Even if we have our name, we can’t even use it. They’re like ‘You didn’t sign the contract again? We won’t give you that name’. I really don’t understand that. That’s why I think that JYP is a really good company. PD J. Y. Park is such a great person, I really love him.”

BamBam also made it clear about GOT7, “We’re not disbanded, we’d keep promoting ourselves. Right now, each member is focusing on our individual activities. We’re gonna work on our albums or tours again.”
