On September 21st, all of EXO Baekhyun’s Instagram posts disappeared. Seeing this, fans of the male idol suspected that his account might have been hacked, as Baekhyun was not the type to do this so suddenly.
Netizens who heard of the news expressed anger via various SNS platforms, seeing that all traces of Baekhyun’s regular communication with fans were erased.
According to Baekhyun’s fans, the EXO member’s activities started to become abnormal after he pressed “like” on a concert post on IU’s Instagram. Then, all posts on his account vanished without a trace.
Several people then brought up the hacking incident that striked actor Lee Do Hyun’s Instagram account back in August, where the hacker threatened to attack other celebrities, and speculated that the same perpetrator is resuming his activities. As a result, fans’ concerns continued to pour in.
According to Sports Trend on September 21st, however, SM Entertainment said that this was not a hack, and that Baekhyun deleted all posts of his own will.
The agency dismissed the controversy, saying, “Baekhyun himself deleted the post to reorganize a new feed after his military discharge.”
Meanwhile, Baekhyun enlisted in May last year and is currently serving as a social worker. He will be discharged on February 5, 2023.
