After resolving the conflict with his agency SM Entertainment, EXO Baekhyun sent a message to the fans.
On June 19th, EXO Baekhyun revealed his heartfelt emotions to fans through the private messaging app Bubble, “Thank you for trusting me, I’m sorry for causing confusion and a hard time for you.” He emphasized, “I’m still Baekhyun.”
This is Baekhyun’s first personal statement after settling the dispute with SM Entertainment over unclear payments and slave contracts, along with EXO members Xiumin and Chen.
When Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin notified SM on June 1st of canceling their exclusive contracts, SM claimed, “There are no settlement or contract-related problems. We have identified external forces that approach our artists, providing false information and incorrect legal evaluations, and making absurd proposals to ignore the exclusive contracts with our company and sign contracts with them.”
Since then, SM and the three EXO members have shown strong differences in their positions regarding the disputes. However, on June 19th, they jointly released a statement that reads, “We were able to resolve the misunderstandings that arose due to past confusion and reach a mutual agreement. Both sides acknowledge and maintain the contracts. Through discussions and revisions of the contract, we have decided to continue EXO’s activities more actively and continuously.”
Baekhyun will make a comeback with Chen, Xiumin, and the rest of EXO with their 7th full album, ‘EXIST,’ on July 10th. This album, released after a gap of two years since EXO’s special album ‘DON’T FIGHT THE FEELING’ in June 2021, is receiving a lot of anticipation.
