Baek Ji Young says actresses are her criteria for OST selection + wants to sing for Kim Tae Ri’s drama

Baek Ji Young revealed what she took into consideration before accepting OST offers.

Baek Ji Young made a guest appearance in the latest episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show “Problem Child in House”, which was broadcast on August 24.

On this day, Baek Ji Young revealed that the criteria for her selection of OSTs are actresses. She explained, “If I don’t feel the actress’ charm when I’m supposed to sing a theme song for her, (it will be difficult).”

Baek Ji Young then talked about her favorite actress. She said, “There’s a reason I sang ‘That Woman’, the OST of ‘Secret Garden’. Of course, the drama’s synopsis is interesting, but because I sang Ha Ji Won’s theme song in ‘Hwangjini’, I fell in love with Ha Ji Won. So when I heard that the lead actor of ‘Secret Garden’ was Ha Ji Won, I immediately agreed.”

In addition, when asked, “Have you ever rejected an OST?”, Baek Ji Young said, “When two offers come in at the same time, I refuse one. In such cases, I make decisions in consideration of the situation such as the release date of the album, not how much I like the actor. Reading the dramas’ synopsis alone, I didn’t know what was going to work out.”

In response to the question, “Is there an actress you want to work with?”, Baek Ji Young answered, “Kim Tae Ri.” She added, “I was worried because she is young, but I enjoyed watching Kim Tae Ri in ‘The Handmaiden’ and I also sang an OST for her drama ‘Mr. Sunshine’.”
