ATTRAKT Faces Backlash Over Low-Quality FIFTY FIFTY Album Amid Legal Battle

Fans are shocked by the quality of FIFTY FIFTY’s new album

On September 22nd, the music group FIFTY FIFTY surprised fans with the release of their compilation album titled “The Beginning.” This album comprises 11 tracks, including fan favorites like “Cupid,” “Cupid – Twin Ver.,” and “Cupid – Twin Ver. featuring Sabrina Carpente.”

Of note, according to feedback from fans, the accompanying photobook in the album has received criticism for its poor quality. The paper used for printing is subpar, and over half of the photobook consists of blank pages, which has left fans disappointed. Additionally, the images of FIFTY FIFTY within the photobook are older shots, and they are arranged in a disorganized layout.

Furthermore, the album is also considered unworthy of its price tag. Fans had to shell out $34.99 (46000 won) to acquire an album of poor quality.

Previously, following the buzz and questions raised by the lack of promotion for FIFTY FIFTY’s album, ATTRAKT’s CEO, Jun Hong Joon, addressed the media. He stated, ‘This is a packaged version intended for release in the United States. Planning for this edition took place in May, and the contract with Warner Music was finalized in early July. In early August, we shipped 156,000 copies to the United States for distribution.’

In fact, the lack of promotion for the new album by the four girls is understandable as the group continues to appeal in court in their lawsuit against the company. In their initial petition, FIFTY FIFTY had their request to suspend the contract with ATTRAKT dismissed by the court. The reason cited was a lack of evidence on FIFTY FIFTY’s part. Losing the lawsuit could potentially lead to the four girls having to compensate the company with an amount as high as $38.7 million.
