ASTRO Fans Protests Against Fantagio Announcing Cha Eun-woo’s Personal Fanclub Recruitment

Fans are demanding an explanation from Fantagio regarding ASTRO Cha Eun-woo’s personal fanclub recruitment

On December 1st, Fantagio posted on ASTRO’s official fancafe a notice of Cha Eun-woo’s official fanclub recruitment. According to the notice, recruitment will take place from December 5th to December 10th, and the official fanclub activity period is from December 5th to December 19th next year.

However, many ASTRO fans were disappointed by the sudden announcement of one member’s personal fanclub recruitment. ASTRO has been on a long hiatus since the release of their full album in May last year. During that time, Rocky left the group after his exclusive contract expired and Moonbin sadly passed away.

Fans who suffered great pain due to the group’s continuous reorganization were very shocked to see the company recruiting personal fanclub without releasing any explanations about ASTRO’s activities. As such, fans in ASTRO’s fancafe are raising their voices demanding Fantagio to issue an official position regarding the group’s future plan.

As this news spread to other online communities, other fans and netizens also disagreed with the announcement of Cha Eun-woo’s personal fanclub recruitment. They reacted, “They are so inconsiderate towards AROHA (ASTRO’s fandom name)”, “They don’t respect AROHA at all”, “You should follow the procedure”, “Aren’t we (ASTRO fans) Cha Eun-woo fans?” etc.

Regarding the controversy, Fantagio told Xports News that they are checking it.

Meanwhile, ASTRO debuted in February 2016 and is currently in the 8th year of their career. At the end of 2022, Fantagio announced that Cha Eun-woo, JinJin and Yoon San-ha had extended their contracts, while the contract renewal of member MJ, who has just been discharged from the military last month, was still in discussion.
