WINWIN

Biography

Winwin is a Chinese singer, dancer, rapper, and actor based in South Korea and China. He is a member of the South Korean boy group NCT and its various sub-units including NCT 127, NCT U, and the China-based unit WayV under SM Entertainment. Winwin is known for his strong performance skills, particularly in dance, and has also pursued individual activities in China.

Early Life and Education

Dong Sicheng was born on October 28, 1997, in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. From a young age, he showed talent in dance and performance; in 2009, he was admitted to the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy, where he excelled in traditional Chinese dance and ranked first in his department.

Winwin later pursued further education in performing arts at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, deepening his training in dance and performance. He is fluent in Chinese and Korean, and his early training in traditional dance has greatly influenced his performance style. 

Career

2015–2016: SM Rookies and Pre-Debut

In 2015, Winwin was recruited by SM Entertainment after being scouted during a performance of traditional dance. After becoming a trainee, he was introduced as a member of SM Rookies, the company’s pre-debut training team, on January 5, 2016.

Winwin appeared in NCT U’s early promotional content, including a performance of “Without You” and live stages in China, before his official debut.

2016–Present: NCT 127, NCT U, and WayV

Winwin made his official debut with NCT 127 on July 7, 2016, with the group’s first mini-album NCT #127 and its title track “Fire Truck.” He also participated in NCT U promotions, contributing to the group’s rotational unit activities.

In January 2019, Winwin debuted as part of WayV, the China-based sub-unit of NCT, through their debut EP The Vision. WayV is managed primarily in China but functions as part of NCT’s global project.

Although he remained active with WayV and NCT activities, Winwin took periods of hiatus from group promotions due to individual schedules, particularly focusing on activities in China. Notably, he did not participate in some WayV comeback promotions due to scheduling conflicts with his personal projects.

Acting Activities in China

Winwin has actively pursued acting in China alongside his music career. He made his acting debut in 2021 with the Chinese web drama The Shadow, taking on a leading role. He later appeared in romance-focused projects such as Sweet Games (2023) and 25 Hours of Love (2024), gradually expanding his acting range and strengthening his presence in the Chinese entertainment industry.
