Rumors surrounding Winwin’s future with NCT and WayV are resurfacing after reports of a possible new career move in China began circulating online.
Earlier this year, reports claiming that Mark Lee would leave NCT and SM Entertainment sparked widespread discussion among fans. Rumors later followed regarding Ten, with speculation suggesting he would leave SM Entertainment while continuing activities as a member of NCT and WayV.

As conversations about contract expirations continue, attention has now shifted toward Winwin, whose recent activities have once again fueled speculation about a possible departure.
Winwin has spent most of his recent years focusing on activities in China, particularly acting projects, rather than participating in Korean promotions with NCT.

His prolonged absence from Korean schedules previously led to speculation about his role within the group. Discussions intensified further after fans noticed that Winwin was reportedly not included in promotional mentions connected to NCT’s anniversary pop-up event.
Unlike many SM artists, Winwin’s activities in China have largely been managed independently through his personal studio setup. The idol has also been known to work under a dual-management arrangement with Yuekai Entertainment.
Most recently, online rumors claimed that Winwin may have signed with Zhaosen Entertainment.
Although the reports remain unconfirmed, the rumors quickly gained traction due to ongoing discussions surrounding potential contract expirations among NCT members in 2026. Some fans have speculated that Winwin’s contract with SM Entertainment could expire as early as July.
The alleged agency move has confused many fans, especially because Winwin was already believed to be operating under a dual contract arrangement with Yuekai Entertainment for his Chinese activities.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions across online communities.
Some fans believe Winwin’s increasing focus on acting and independent activities in China suggests a gradual separation from SM Entertainment, while others argue that his current setup may simply allow him more flexibility without requiring him to officially leave NCT or WayV.
As of now, neither SM Entertainment nor Winwin has released an official statement regarding the viral rumors.
