Roh Jeong-eui is a South Korean actress. She is widely recognized for her work in both film and television, progressing from a successful child performer to leading roles in major series and movies. Roh has gained acclaim for her versatility and emotional depth, with notable performances in 18 Again, Our Beloved Summer, Hierarchy, and The Witch.

Early Life and Education

Roh Jeong-eui was born on July 31, 2001, in Bundang District, Seongnam, South Korea. She entered the entertainment industry at a young age with support from her older sister, going through eight auditions before being selected as a child model. Her first appearance on television was in Happy Time, Fantastic Mates in 2009. In 2019, she was accepted into Hanyang University, where she studied in the Department of Theater and Film, marking her commitment to a long-term acting career.

Career

Child Actress Beginnings (2010–2015)

Roh began her on-screen career as a child actress; her first acting appearance in a drama was in the OCN series Quiz of God in 2010, and she appeared in the Channel A drama Bachelor’s Vegetable Store and the film I Am a Dad in 2011. She continued to act frequently in television series such as Dream High 2, Operation Proposal, and Pinocchio through the early 2010s, earning nominations for best young actress awards.

Teenage and Supporting Roles (2016–2019)

In 2016, Roh drew attention with her performance as Kim Dong-i in the film Phantom Detective. She appeared in several period and contemporary dramas, including Flowers of the Prison and the thriller Kill It (2019), where she played Kang Seul-gi, expanding her range beyond child roles.

Rise to Prominence (2020–Present)

Roh’s career broke into mainstream recognition with her role as Hong Shi-ah in the television series 18 Again (2020), which brought her broader audience attention. She continued her rise with roles in Dear.M (2022) and as NJ, a top idol in Our Beloved Summer (2021–2022). Her performance in Our Beloved Summer earned her the Best New Actress award at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards. In 2022–2023, Roh expanded her public profile by hosting the music program Inkigayo alongside Yeonjun (Tomorrow X Together) and Seo Beom-jun.

In 2024, she appeared as Jung Jae-i in the Netflix series Hierarchy and starred in the Netflix film Badland Hunters. In 2025, she took leading roles in the Channel A series The Witch and the MBC romantic drama Crushology 101, earning nominations including a Baeksang Arts Awards nomination for Best New Actress Television.

Looking ahead, Roh is set to appear in the 2026 tvN drama Our Universe while also attached to the project Pigpen.
