Apink’s Chorong “I used to think leaders had to be tough, but being too tough can also break you”

Apink’s leader, Chorong, shares her songwriting process and the importance of flexibility in leadership during a recent radio appearance.

Apink’s leader, Park Chorong, recently revealed the story behind her songwriting process. On April 6th, Apink appeared as guests on SBS Power FM’s “Two O’Clock Escape Cultwo Show”, alongside singer Hwang Chi Yeol, who was the special DJ for the day.

During the interview, Chorong talked about her song “Me, Myself&I” from Alink’s latest album “SELF”, which she wrote. She praised the vocal talents of her fellow members and mentioned that fans enjoy both their upbeat and emotional tracks.

Chorong said, “It’s a song that highlights the members’ singing skills. The fans also like this song. The fans like us to sing bright songs, but they also like emotional feelings.

Chorong also revealed that she was inspired by her hairstylist, who had comforted her during a difficult time. When Jung Eunji asked about the inspiration behind the lyrics, Chorong shared that her hairstylist had told her that leaders need to be flexible, even though they should also be strong.

Chorong used to believe that she needed to be tough all the time as the group’s leader, but she now understands the importance of adaptability, because being too tough can eventually break you.
