Another shock after Titan tragedy: Actor in “Titanic” iconic scene found dead at home

Actor Lew Palter, known for playing an iconic role in the movie “Titanic”, has passed away at his home in Los Angeles.

Lew Palter, who appeared in an iconic scene in “Titanic”, is found dead at home. In particular, the actor passed away on May 21st from lung cancer, at the age of 94.

His death comes as a late shock amidst the tragedy of the Titan submersible, which went down to the depths of the sea to explore the Titanic wreckage, only to have an accident.

Meanwhile, in “Titanic”, Lew Palter portrayed the role of Isidor Straus, a department store owner. Isidor Straus was one of the wealthy passengers, but during the sinking, he refused to board a lifeboat, choosing to stay with his wife. The scene where he lay in bed, embracing his wife, and drowned together evoked tears from the audience.

Besides his acting career, Lew Palter worked as acting teacher at an art school until 2013.

The art school associated with Lew Palter has paid tribute to the actor and state, “Lew loved the craft of acting and taught his students to do the same”, adding, “He had the utmost respect of his students and encouraged all to find truth in their work and lives”

On the other hand, back on June 18th, a submersible named Titan, which was carrying five passengers to see the wreckage of the Titanic, lost contact after only 1 hour and 45 minutes into its journey.

Subsequently, on June 22nd, various parts of the submersible were found, and it was reported that all five passengers on board had died due to an implosion.

Notably, the wife of Ocean Gate’s CEO, who was also in the submersible, is said to be a descendant of the Titanic’s famous old couple in real life.
