According to Chinese outlet 163, Angelababy has gradually shifted her focus toward Hong Kong and Macau, seeking new opportunities in smaller markets. In a move that surprised many, Angelababy was recently spotted filming a promotional shoot for a local snack shop on the streets of Macau.

Dressed in a youthful ensemble of a T-shirt and baggy pants, the 1989-born star posed for photos and shot commercials right in front of the store. The scene was quickly captured by passersby and went viral on social media.
However, it was also apparent that her popularity in Macau isn’t what it used to be. Foot traffic during the shoot was sparse, with few fans stopping to watch. This stark contrast to the massive crowds she once drew in her prime led some netizens to label the scene as a clear sign of her fading star power.
Previously, last year, Angelababy shared a cheerful vlog of her sightseeing trip in Hong Kong, earning praise for her youthful appearance. However, behind the smiles, she continues to face career setbacks stemming from the 2023 scandal where she attended BLACKPINK Lisa’s Crazy Horse show in Paris. Although she denied wrongdoing, Angelababy was criticized for defying Chinese cultural norms and subsequently faced a three-month social media ban and unofficial blacklisting from entertainment shows.

Her career remains stagnant, with no new job offers or appearances at major events. She has returned to Hong Kong in search of opportunities but struggles due to poor acting reviews and a lack of support. Her earlier success is widely attributed to her ex-husband, Huang Xiaoming, who used his influence to help her rise. Their eventual divorce reportedly stemmed from her belief that she had surpassed him in fame and earnings. Huang Xiaoming has since moved on with model Ye Ke.
