Almost identical fictional Korean characters: Kim Bok Joo and Do Bong Soon are almost indistinguishable to some viewers!
From image to disposition and ability, these pairs of fictional characters resemble each other strongly.
Lee Young Joon – Kang Tae Moo
At the time of airing, the audience were taken aback by the similiarity between Kang Tae Moo from “Business Proposal” and Lee Young Joon from “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” Some even believed that Kang Tae Moo was actually Lee’s son in an unspecified timeline. These two characters both hold the highest positions of two big companies. They started out as narcissists for their apparent handsomeness as well as wealth and undisputable talent. Yet, it was love that changed them into sweet and romantic lovers.
Mi Nyeo – Jae Hee
Mi Nyeo and Jae Hee have more in common than just looks. Mi Nyeo from “You’re Beautiful” and Jae Hee from “To the Beautiful You” were both women in disguise and only revealed their female identity to the male leads later on in the series. The purposes for their disguise were clear: for Mi Nyeo, it was a chance for her and her orphaned twin to find their mother and, for Jae Hee, it was a tradeoff for her to follow her dream.
Do Gi – Ryu Hwan
Returning with the second part of “Taxi Driver,” Lee Je Hoon drew attention with a untrimmed hairstyle that covered almost the upper half of his face, creating a memorable image for his character, Do Gi. The look, however, carried a strong resemblance to Ryu Hwan, played by Kim Soo Hyun, in the movie “Secretly Greatly.” The similiarity grew stronger in the scenes where both characters showed off their hard-earned bodies while still keeping the strange and eccentric hairdo.
Do Bong Soon – Kim Bok Joo
“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” and “Strong Girl” Do Bong Soon are like two peas in one pod. They are in the same category of a female lead: bright, always cheerful characters but with a twist: their innocent image is a cover for their jaw-dropping superhuman strength. Kim Bok Joo and Do Bong Soon even shared a energetic bob haircut. Apart from the fact that Do Bong Soon is stronger than Kim Bok Joo, these two characters are so alike the only other way viewers can distinguish them is by looking at the male leads of the series.
