Actor Kang Dong-won is leaving YG Entertainment.

On the 30th, YG Entertainment announced, “Actor Kang Dong-won decided to end his management duties after discussions.”

They said, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude and words of support to actor Kang Dong-won, who has been with us for a long time.”

Kang Dong-won signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment in January 2016. It is known that he chose YG Entertainment because of his trust and future vision with Yang Hyun-suk, who was then YG’s head and chief producer. CEO Yang Hyun-suk also expressed his intention to form a separate ‘Kang Dong-won team’ to directly manage and actively support his activities and overseas expansion.

Meanwhile, on the same day, all iKON members also announced their departure from YG. Earlier, two BIGBANG members, Taeyang and Daesung, also expired their contracts with this agency.
