After “My Demon”, SBS’s Next Fri-Sat Drama Led by Ahn Bohyun and Park Jihyun Teases Script Reading
The first SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama of 2024, “Flex X Cop,” unveiled its script reading session
Airing as the follow-up to “My Demon,” SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama, “Flex X Cop,” portrays a third-generation chaebol heir turning into a powerful detective. Following the success of series like “The Fiery Priest,” “One Dollar Lawyer,” “Taxi Driver,” and “One More Woman,” which gained immense popularity with humorous characters and lively narratives, the 2024 production of SBS’s next Friday-Saturday drama is drawing attention.
Additionally, “Flex X Cop” brings together Kim Bada, the writer of “My Name,” and director Kim Jaehong, who co-directed “Through the Darkness” and “Revenant.”
The stellar cast, led by the rising stars Ahn Bohyun (as Jin Isu) and Park Jihyun (as Lee Kanghyun), promises to deliver a comedy-action investigative drama filled with wit and tension through their broad spectrum of acting skills.
The first script reading event, signaling the official launch of the “Flex X Cop,” has captured attention. Director Kim Jaehong, and writer Kim Bada, along with cast members all attended, raising expectations for their perfect chemistry.
With its departure from the traditional detective story of a “detective with no money, no background, but a sense of justice,” “Flex X Cop” introduces an unprecedented setting of a “rich third-generation chaebol detective with both money and background.”
The script reading revealed a story development and fresh characters never seen before. The variety of incident episodes, akin to a detective game, generated a captivating immersion and tension just from reading the script.
The playful dynamic between Ahn Bohyun and Park Jihyun as investigation partners is another point that sparked laughter during the script reading.
After the script reading, writer Kim Bada expressed admiration for the actors’ skills, “From today, I can entrust all the characters to you and sleep well”. Director Kim Jaehong also said, “It was a fun script reading. I will strive to create a drama more entertaining than the script.”
“Flex X Cop” is scheduled to premiere in January 2024.
