After declining due to President-elect Yoon’s appearance, “You Quiz” ratings hit the jackpot again
The new episode of “You Quiz on the Block” featuring Lim Young Woong is drawing a good response.
According to Nielsen Korea on May 5th, the new episode broadcast on May 4th of “You Quiz on the Block”, which was called “Hero Special”, with guest appearance from trot singer Lim Young Woong, trainer Kang Hyung Wook, and martial arts fighter Jung Chan Sung, recorded a nationwide rating of 6.2%, up 2% from last week.
Korean netizens on Theqoo showed positive reactions to this news through comments such as “The popularity of You Quiz is always the top in Korea”, “Is this the highest viewership rating?”, and “The rise from the previous episode is impressive”.
In episode 152 of “You Quiz”, Lim Young Woong confessed, “I always think that I am receiving so much love compared to what I have now.” When MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho asked what his current concerns were, he said, “I keep thinking and trying to become better than before, but I get a lot of stress when I hit the wall.”
He added, “I worry about ‘what if people don’t like it?’. It bothers me that I have to overcome the wall I bump into without getting frustrated, and I think I might be the villain myself.”
After episode 150 aired on April 20th with the appearance of President-elect Yoon Seok Yeol, the ratings of “You Quiz” fell sharply due to political controversy. The rating of episode 150 was recorded at 4.4%, and on the April 27th broadcast, the rating of episode 151 dropped to 3.5%. Controversy has intensified over CJ and its programs as it was revealed that “You Quiz” had rejected requests from President Moon Jae In, former Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae Myung, and Prime Minister Kim Boo Gyum to appear.
