aespa’s Karina and BTS’s J-Hope are thrilled to see Son Heung Min win the Premier League Golden Boot

Both Karina and J-Hope expressed their excitement at Korean soccer player Son Heung Min’s historic achievement. 

On May 23rd, aespa’s Karina sent messages on Bubble to her fans, saying, “This is out of the blue, but I just saw an article that said Son Heung Min became the top scorer. Wow, his 23rd goal was really cool.” She added, “I’m going to sleep now. Bye. But can’t I just watch Son Heung Min scoring his goal again? It was really cool.”

Like Karina, BTS’s J-Hope also shared his excitement with fans. He joined many Korean soccer fans to watch Tottenham Hotspur’s game past midnight (Korea time). J-Hope posted on his Instagram story a video of Son Heung Min’s fantastic second goal and cheered for him. He congratulated Son Heung Min by directly tagging his account and showed his pride through fire emoticons. J-Hope also uploaded a video of Son Heung Min receiving the Golden Boot trophy and captioned, “Amazing.”

Meanwhile, with two goals in the final round of the 2021-2022 English Premiere League against Norwich City on May 23rd, Son Heung Min tied with Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) as the top scorers with 23 goals throughout the season. He became the first Korean and first Asian in the history of the Premiere League to take home the Golden Boot award.
