aespa Wins Bonsang Artist of the Year at 2023 The Fact Music Awards

aespa was named one of the Bonsang winners at the 2023 The Fact Music Awards that took place on October 10th 

aespa, who has conquered the global music market, was awarded ‘Artist of the Year’ (Bonsang) at the 2023 The Fact Music Awards (TMA).

aespa said in their acceptance speech, “This is our first time appearing at TMA, and we are grateful to receive this meaningful award,” expressing their gratitude to their fans, MYs. Foreign members NingNing and Giselle expressed their thanks to global fans in Chinese, English, and Japanese.

The ‘Artist of the Year’ (Bonsang) award is TMA’s top prize, presented to artists who have shown outstanding performance in album sales and digital rankings among all artists who released albums or songs in the past year. It was selected based on 60% of this year’s music and album scores (based on Circle Chart) and 40% of scores from the professional judging panel. The criteria for artists’ activities were based their performance from September 25th, 2022 to September 23rd, 2023.

aespa achieved the highest first-week sales record (1,698,784 copies sold) among K-pop girl groups with their third mini-album ‘MY WORLD’ released in May. They also achieved double million-seller status by selling over 2 million copies in just two weeks. Their debut song, ‘Black Mamba,’ also set a record as the fastest K-pop group debut MV to hit 100 million views.

aespa has been active not only in Korea but also overseas. In February, they held the world tour ‘aespa LIVE TOUR 2023 ‘SYNK: HYPER LINE” and had concerts across Asia, North America, South America, Europe.

The 2023 TMA was attended by artists including aespa, ATEEZ, ITZY, TREASURE, ENHYPEN, ZEROBASEONE, BOYNEXTDOOR, JANNABI, IVE, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, Lim Youngwoong, Lee Chanwon, and more.
