On November 18, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and ADOR confirmed that the Minister’s office received a large number of fan complaints via fax regarding NewJeans over November 16-17.
The fan group requested an official investigation into allegations that ADOR has negatively impacted the public image of NewJeans members. In addition to faxing the Ministry, fans also submitted complaints to members of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee of the National Assembly.
Officials stated that the Ministry will notify ADOR about the complaints and adjust related schedules accordingly. As these are official grievances, the Ministry is obligated to investigate both ADOR and the NewJeans members. However, details regarding the scope, level, and process of the investigation have not yet been determined.
An industry insider commented: “Both parties have only just begun reconciliation, yet some fans are sending complaints based on unverified claims. This could potentially escalate tensions between ADOR and NewJeans. Fans need to consider whether their actions truly benefit the artists they support before taking such steps.”
