The identity of the actress who hid the fact that her husband was a famous actor and went to auditions has been revealed.
Actor Jin Seon-kyu appeared as a guest on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block“, which aired on Oct 26th.
Yoo Jae-suk mentioned actress Park Bo-kyung, Jin Seon-kyu’s wife, “Her charisma as the chief secretary in the drama ‘Little Women‘ wasn’t a joke.”
Jin Seon-kyu said, “I don’t know how to explain this moment, but my wife gave up all her dreams. She spent 8 years raising children and assisting me. As the children grew up a little, she started auditioning last year. She gradually increased the proportion of roles from minor roles. There came a day that she had a chance to play Go Soo-im in ‘Little Women’.”
He continued, “I’m proud that such a moment is coming to my wife, just as many people recognized me during ‘The Outlaws’.”
Jin Seon-kyu expressed his extraordinary affection for his wife, “My wife’s nickname is ‘wasabi’. She has special things that I don’t have. When I wake up in the morning and say ‘Honey, did you sleep well?’, she’ll reply ‘You’re not going to clean up your face?’ It’s so thrilling.”
In the subsequent interview with the production team, he shared, “We made a promise. Bo-kyung said it first, but I also told her ‘Even if there are acquaintances at auditions, please don’t talk about me. I want to see you as actress Park Bo-kyung, not Jin Seon-kyu’s wife.’ So she auditioned by herself. I think I was happier to see her happy.”
Actress Park Bo-kyung, who appeared next, recalled, “I didn’t even know that I hadn’t acted for more than 10 years. I didn’t know if I’d be able to act again. I went to auditions and realized that I was acting again because I had a script in my hand instead of a fairy tale book. I was holding the script for a while.”
Park Bo-kyung’s eyes were moist with tears, “My daughter has been asking me lately. Her dad is always on TV, so she knows his job is an actor. But when I appeared on TV, she asked ‘Did you also dream of becoming an actor?’ It’s been so long since I received a question like that. Now, I can tell her ‘Mom’s dream was to be an actor, too. I’m trying to achieve my dream.'”
