Abby Choi case: Ex-father-in-law demands current in-laws to pay for legal fees, twists behind the crime are yet to unfold?

After more than a month of the murder of model Abby Choi that shook the world, there is more new information that makes netizens confused. 

More than a month has passed since the shocking murder of Abby Choi, the current father-in-law of Abby Choi, the founder of the TamJai Yunnan Mixian restaurant chain, was suddenly dragged into the case.

Accordingly, after the suspects including 4 members of Abby Choi’s ex-husband’s family were detained pending trial, Kwong Kau, Abby Choi’s ex-father-in-law demanded that Abby Choi’s current in-laws pay for a lawyer. 

This action of Kwong Kau has angered the public. Netizens even speculate that it is possible that Abby Choi’s current in-laws were also involved in this case.

According to Info 51, when she was alive, Abby Choi had a huge fortune, including many valuable real estate. She is said to be a shareholder, under the name of a legal entity of the companies operated by her current father-in-law, with total personal assets estimated at more than 100 million HKD. 

Moreover, Abby Choi’s ex-husband’s family still lives on the female model’s allowance. Hong Kong media also asked this question: Abby Choi is an influencer who occasionally went to entertainment events, so how could she have so much money, if not from her husband’s family?  

Abby Choi was rumoredly given money, house and company shares by her husband’s family, and let her support her ex-husband’s family, in exchange for her and her ex-husband’s family to help them launder money. Of course, these are just speculations from the Hong Kong media channels. There is still no evidence to draw specific conclusions.
