“He’s a fox,” Insiders reveal that Aaron Yan’s apologetic words are all insincere.
On June 24th, ETtoday reported that Aaron Yan was accused by TikToker Yao Le of coercing him into having sex, secretly filming a sex tape, and leaking it online. Aaron Yan admitted his mistake, promised to take responsibility, and apologized to his ex-boyfriend at a press conference.
However, according to ETtoday’s investigation, Aaron Yan was merely “acting” in front of the public and the press. Over the years, the actor had never cared about the negative impact that Yao Le had to endure, even though he himself was the one who leaked the sex tape of his ex-boyfriend, who was a minor when they were dating.
In 2018, when the sex tape was leaked, people close to Aaron Yan revealed that the actor remained indifferent. He even boasted to his friends in the industry, “Luckily, my face isn’t shown.” Therefore, what he said about him feeling mentally tormented and insecure due to the scandal was just deceptive to the public.
“He is a fox in the Taiwanese entertainment industry. Don’t judge a book by its cover. When you need him, he whispers sweet words in your ear, but behind your back, you never know what Aaron Yan will do,” a source told ETtoday.
Aaron Yan’s aggressive behavior during the press conference and his revoking of Yao Le’s right to speak are considered “malicious.” By asserting that everything he did had the consent of his ex-boyfriend, contradicting Yao Le’s accusations, he was seen as intentionally manipulating the situation, which involved charges of sexual relations with a minor and possession of child pornography.
Aaron Yan’s appearance at the press conference created tremendous pressure on Yao Le. Yao Le needed encouragement from friends to regain composure after a direct confrontation with Aaron Yan. After Aaron Yan left, Yao Le also lost the mental stability to continue answering the press’s questions and had to cancel the event before being able to present new evidence.
Communication experts pointed out Aaron Yan’s skillful manipulation in his letter. He narrated a love story and claimed to financially support Yao Le to avoid being charged with sexual assault, turning his ex-boyfriend into a sugar baby. He denied any involvement in the leaking of the sex tape, stating that his data was stolen while fixing his phone.
Being involved in such a serious scandal, Aaron Yan has been facing public boycotts. The police have also launched an investigation into his scandal. Starting from June 21st, the Taiwanese entertainment industry initiated a “ban” on his career.
According to Sent, Aaron Yan has lost 15 advertising contracts, been excluded from the guest list of the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Taiwan on August 28th, and had his position as an MC revoked at the Kim Chung Awards.
The Taiwan International Youth Chamber of Commerce revoked the “Top 10 Outstanding Youth” award given to him in 2022. Several programs have announced the cancellation of recordings with Aaron Yan.
