Once known as the “Korean Barbie”, this Korean actress has lost everything
Actress Seo Woo, real name Kim Moon Joo, was born in 1985, and became a household name via many famous K-dramas such as “Cinderella’s Sister”, “If Tomorrow Comes”, “Glass Mask”, “The King’s daughter Soo Baek Hyang”, and more.
Seo Woo made her acting debut in 2007 via the film “My Son”. Despite appearing for only 1 minute, Seo Woo’s doll-like visual immediately drew attention and helped the actress make a deep impression on directors Park Chan Ok and Lee Kyung Mi.
After “My Son”, Seo Woo continuously seeked for further projects to prove her abilities, and quickly scored the hit K-drama “Cinderella’s Sister”, where she excellently pulled off her difficult role. Later on, Seo Woo secured her position in the acting world with an appearance in the critically acclaimed movie “The Housemaid”, which was once nominated for a grand prize at the 2010 Cannes International Film Festival.
In 2012, Seo Woo assumed a role in the mega hit “Glass Mask”, which turned the actress into a household name. Even now, the series is regarded as Seo Woo’s most successful acting project.
Alongside numerous praise for her acting abilities, the actress was also well-known for her “doll-like visual”, to the point the public would call her a “Korean Barbie”. However, it was later revealed that her beauty is a product of plastic surgery, and that she looked considerably different in the past. Normally, this shouldn’t be an issue, but Seo Woo’s procedures started to show apparent signs, leading to her beauty dwindling and her expressions getting stiffer. The actress was also revealed to have lied about her age, causing her to lose public favor once and for all.
Once a popular actress with an impressive repertoire, Seo Woo was unable to overcome the public’s ire. Ever since 2015, the actress only starred in the movie “The House”, which recorded poor reception.
