“Business Proposal” is one of the most well-received K-dramas lately after only 4 episodes. Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, “Business Proposal” brings together a young and potential cast including Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Se Jeong, Kim Min Kyu, Seol In Ah… Despite drawing compliments from the majority of viewers, there are still some negative reviews calling out the drama’s cliché overused plot and overacting.
Ahn Hyo Seop once shared that his character did not have a realistic image to refer to, so he and the crew had to spend a lot of time and effort to bring Kang Tae Moo to the screen.
The outfits, hairstyle, gestures and speech mannerisms are all paid attention to in order to turn Ahn Hyo Seop into a perfect Kang Tae Moo coming out of the webtoon. Kang Tae Moo is a character who is cold on the outside but warm on the inside. He also has complex thoughts, so it is not an easy role.
Recently, Korean media channel Ten Asia gave a negative review of Ahn Hyo Seop‘s portrayal of Kang Tae Moo, saying that he failed to deliver the image of CEO Kang to the viewers in a convincing way.
In particular, Ten Asia emphasized that Ahn Hyo Seop‘s adjustment of his voice has backfired, only making it sound awkward and forced. Ahn Hyo Seop previously revealed that he tried to show a different tone from his usual voice for the character.
Regarding the female lead Kim Se Jeong, she was positively evaluated by Ten Asia for her acting ability. The role of Shin Ha Ri is a bit exaggerated, but Kim Sejeong excellently highlights the character’s charm.
Besides, it is predicted that if the script continues to have silly funny plot details and exaggerated characters, the audience might get bored.
However, it is impossible not to recognize the success of “Business Proposal”. The drama is heating up day by day and is expected to gain explosive ratings in the near future.
