A “High Kick 2” cast member to resume acting after five years, new image at script reading revealed 

Highlight Lee Gi Kwang returns with “I Kill U” after five years. 

While “High Kick Through the Roof” aired almost a decade ago, it is still a talked-about sitcom classic to this day. The long-running series has given the much-needed platforms for rookies at the time to reach stardom. Highlight Lee Gi Kwang is no exception.

In the sitcom, Lee GI Kwang plays Su Ho, Ju Hyuk’s best friend. He is a top student in his class with impressive academic records. He has a nice personality and great choreography skills. Because Su Ho is so good at almost everything, even Hae Ri falls in love with him and wants to marry him.

Lee Gi Kwang had a decent performance in his first acting gig. Afterward, he became a sought-after face and got the chance to appear in bigger projects. However, because the singer wanted to focus on his music career, Lee Gi Kwang only took up minor roles, guest star positions, or lead roles in short-term projects. In 2017, he joined the cast of tvN’s “Circle” and KBS2’s “Lovely Horribly” in 2018; in both those dramas, he appeared as part of the main cast. Sadly, they were not as successful as expected. 

From 2018 to now, Lee Gi Kwang mostly focused on singing and changed his image for new comebacks. 

Recently, the idol-actor is returning with “I Kill U.” In the drama, Lee Gi Kwang will play the male lead Ho Joong – the only grandson of the Chairman of Beomhan Construction Company. Ho Joong always wants to take over the company but feels inferior to his talented sister, Ji Yeon. One day, she dies due to an accident. After her death, a girl from a poor background who looks just like Ji Yeon is hired to replace Ho Joong’s late sister. Only images of Gi Kwang at the script reading have been released.
