The KBS2 daily drama A Graceful Liar has taken over Korean television, recording an impressive 8.5% nationwide rating after only six episodes and claiming the top spot in its time slot.
The series, which premiered on September 22, tells the daring yet emotional story of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law who become entangled in a war of deception and ambition as they fight for control over a powerful family business.
A Shocking Twist After Only Six Episodes
The sixth episode left viewers in shock with a dramatic confrontation that exposed the central lie. In the episode, Cha Jung-won (Lee Si-ah) continues her deceit by posing as Joo Young-chae (Lee Hyo-na) to maintain her relationship with Jin Se-hoon (Han Ki-woong).

The tension peaks when Gong Nan-sook (Lee Seung-yeon) invites both Jung-won and Se-hoon to a wedding dress shop, leading to an explosive showdown. When Nan-sook realizes Jung-won has been impersonating Young-chae, she grabs her by the collar and shouts, “You fraud! How dare you pretend to be Young-chae?” The scene ends with Se-hoon yelling in disbelief, “You’re not Young-chae? Tell me what’s going on!” a cliffhanger that sent shockwaves through viewers.
Strong Ratings Momentum
Following the intense sixth episode, A Graceful Liar has continued to sustain strong viewership, maintaining between 8–9% ratings nationwide according to Nielsen Korea.
The latest episode, Episode 13, recorded an 8.4% nationwide rating, proving the series’ ongoing popularity and emotional pull. Each week, the drama deepens its intrigue, keeping audiences glued to their screens with escalating secrets and betrayals.

In Episode 13, Han Hye-ra (Lee Il-hwa) becomes convinced that her long-lost daughter is dead, igniting suspicion toward her husband Jin Tae-seok (Choi Jong-hwan). Meanwhile, Joo Young-chae, who once manipulated Jung-won into assuming her identity, reappears, foreshadowing more turmoil to come.
A Storm of Betrayal and Suspense
The episode also featured a tense moment when Gong Nan-sook ordered her men to abduct and assault Park Kyung-shin (Kim Hyun-jae), accusing him of betraying Young-chae. Simultaneously, Han Hye-ra confronts Tae-seok in a heated exchange, accusing him of interfering with her search for the daughter before breaking down in tears.

The emotional climax ends with her silently vowing, “If you lied to me, I will never forgive you,” hinting at even darker revelations ahead.
