A female student is caught for selling fake BLACKPINK concert tickets 

She allegedly committed the act due to her family situation. 

Recently, fan community is buzzing at the news of a 20-year-oldHong Kong female student (called “A”) being arrested for selling fake BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” concert tickets.

Accordingly, after contacting to purchase a BLACKPINK concert ticket, a victim had to pay 4,900 Hong Kong dollar (817,800 Korean won) to receive an electronic ticket from A but could not get in to the concert. 

Another victim even bought up to 4 tickets for the concert taking place on January 14th but realized something was wrong when the numbers on the tickets were the same. The buyer reported to the police and A was captured on the spot.

After being arrested and questioned, A admitted to having attended the BLACKPINK concert on January 13th but later adjusted the informaion and sold counterfeit tickets on social media. However, A’s lawyer revealed her situation that made her do what she did.

According to A’s side of the story, her father left her family after her family was in debt and her mother had to be the sole breadwinner. At university, A was a model student with a high GPA. However, to help her family financially, A quitted school and took up waitressing. Half of A’s wage was transferred to her mother and the other half was set aside for her brother’s tuition fee. 

In her mitigation letter, A said: “I  wanted to take the weight off my mother’s shoulders, but what I did was completely wrong.” Ultimately, she is facing 4 charges of fraud and 1 of attempted fraud. She is currently detained while waiting for her final sentence.
