The Afreeca TV audition program “Up to You” has been embroiled in controversy over several shocking scenes.
Recently, some scenes from a broadcast of “Up to You”, an audition project for BJs on Afreeca TV, was posted on an online community and attracted attention.
However, the upload soon sparked controversy as it contained a scene where a female BJ, who was dressed in a school uniform outfit, danced to HyunA’s “Cause I’m God Girl” while exposing her underwear. Meanwhile, other BJs standing in the back could not hide their surprised expressions at the sudden “panty exposure”. To make things worse, many of the participants at the scene are minors.
Netizens who stumbled upon the video also pointed out that such a show was too risqué, considering that there’s no viewers’ age restriction, and participants mostly include young girls.
Afreeca TV’s audition project “Up to You”, which has been in progress since November 30th of last month, is a program that aims to select a 5-member female “idol group” for their program, among BJs talented in singing, dancing and rapping.
After about a month of competition, five winners will be decided in the finale on December 21st. The evaluation is carried out based on points calculated from adding user votes, judges’ evaluations, and broadcasting indicators.
The finalists of the program will receive a total prize money of 100 million won, an opportunity to release a song, and the right to appear in the “Up to You” concert.
On the other hand, the “Up to You” concert, which will feature the 5 winners, will be held on December 24th.
