“A bed scene a day”, unexpectedly noisy controversy over Seo Ye-ji’s return with “Eve”

tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Eve” (written by Yoon Young-mi, directed by Park Bong-seop) is drawing attention due to the controversy over its cast Seo Ye-ji, as well as the number of hot scenes in each episode.

Eve” is a work that depicts the intense and deadly passionate revenge plan of a woman who has been planning and preparing for 13 years. Park Byung-eun, Yoo Seon, and Lee Sang-yeop starred alongside Seo Ye-ji as they work with Yoon Young-mi, the writer of “One Well Raised Daughter” and “The Birth of a Beauty,”  and director by Park Bong-seop, producer of “Uncanny Counters.”

“Eve”, which aired its first episode on Jun 1st, drew attention with its shocking development. The drama depicts Lee Ra-el (Seo Ye-ji) deliberately approaching Kang Yoon-gyeom (Park Byung-eun) and committing an affair. After performing the tango stage at a charity event of the kindergarten where her daughter attends, she brought her husband Jang Jin-wook (Lee Ha-yul) to the waiting room and did a bed scene, saying, “The hot energy from Tango is bothering me,” while Kang Yoon-gyeom watched. This scene immediately received a hot response after the show.

On Jun 2nd, when the 2nd episode aired, the erotic level of “Eve” continued. The drama opened up the beginning of hell by depicting Lee Ra-el doing her best to seduce Kang Yoon-gyeom. The story of Kang Yoon-gyeom, who is obsessed with Lee Ra-el after what he witnessed at the charity event, and Lee Ra-el, who deliberately approached Kang Yoon-gyeom, unfolded. Tempted by Lee Ra-el, Kang Yoon-gyeom drew attention as he even slept with his wife Han So-ra (Yu-seon), which he hasn’t done in five years, to relieve his desire. Kang Yoon-gyeom continued his unprecedented story as he only thought about Lee Ra-el while lying in bed with his wife.

Eve

“Eve,” which attracted viewers’ attention by unveiling continuous shocking scenes in each episode, has emerged as hot as a hot potato as it is Seo Ye-ji’s return. Earlier, Seo Ye-ji temporarily suspended her activities last year due to suspicions that she was behind the controversy over actor Kim Jung-hyun’s attitude during the production presentation of the MBC drama “Time” three years ago. A “gaslighting controversy” emerged in which Seo Ye-ji manipulated Kim Jung-hyun because she hated Kim Jung-hyun talking to his counterpart actors and staff and filming romance scenes. On top of that, she disappeared after being embroiled in various additional controversies such as the controversy over staff abuse, forgery of Spanish academic background, and lying. Amid the “gaslighting” controversy, Seo Ye-ji announced her return to the industry through “Eve” on November 21st last year after seven months of self-reflection and has been focusing on filming the drama.

However, Lee Jin-ho, the owner of an entertainment YouTube channel, said, “I can’t confirm whether Seo Ye-ji sincerely reflected on herself. There was no self-reflection for sure,” he said, drawing renewed controversy. Seo Ye-ji is said to have continued to talk about her role in “Eve” with the production team amid controversy, and for this reason, it is difficult to say that she was in any period of self-reflection at all.

In addition, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho said of Seo Ye-ji, “There has been nothing rough about her return. “Eve” is a work that did not have a production presentation. Some even said that it was intentionally canceled due to the burden of Seo Ye-ji’s controversy. However, it was reported that Seo Ye-ji, the person involved, expressed her intention of not avoiding any drama-related events. She shows a strong will for her comeback work. This is why I say her mental is now weak at all,” he said. “The role in ‘Eve’ is so perfect for Seo Ye-ji, because her dream of revenge looked a lot like reality.” A drama insider said, “As the episodes go, she will be more and more suitable for the role,” adding to the controversy.
