A preview for the YouTube channel Just Open Your Mouth, released on July 16, featured fromis\ 9 members Lee Chaeyoung and Lee Nagyung as guests.
During the preview, Lee Nagyung was asked whether she honestly wished Chaeyoung would stop coming over to her house. She replied, “Chaeyoung and I once had a really childish fight.”
Hearing that, Lee Chaeyoung screamed in embarrassment and pleaded, “I’m so embarrassed about that. Please don’t tell the story,” sparking viewers’ curiosity about what happened.
Chaeyoung also unexpectedly brought up the e-cigarette controversy that surrounded her in the past. “I uploaded a photo, and an e-cigarette happened to appear in it,” she recalled. “After that, I received a lot of messages from e-cigarette companies.”
Her remarks referred to an incident in 2023, when she posted a photo on social media that appeared to include what many believed was an e-cigarette. The image quickly fueled speculation that she was smoking.
The incident divided public opinion at the time. Some netizens argued that, as an adult, she had every right to smoke if she chose to, while others said any potential impact on her public image would ultimately be her own responsibility.
Meanwhile, fromis\ 9 is set to release its new album Glow ME across major music streaming platforms at 6 p.m. KST on July 21.
