Actress Goo Hye Sun will appear on the upcoming episode of MBN’s Kim Ju Ha’s Day & Night, airing on July 18, where she shares personal stories about criticism, self-improvement, and her recent adventure in the Himalayas.
During the interview, Goo Hye Sun revealed that she never ignores negative comments directed at her. “I don’t miss a single hate comment—I read all of them.”
Rather than dismissing the criticism, she explained that she sees online negativity as a social phenomenon and tries to use constructive feedback to improve herself. “If someone logically says, ‘Your pronunciation isn’t good,’ I take that as motivation to practice harder.” Her honest perspective surprised viewers, as she described criticism as something that can fuel personal growth rather than simply causing emotional pain.

Goo Hye Sun also recalled one of the most memorable comments she has received throughout her 24-year entertainment career.
She revealed that she had never been called a “pig” until recently. “For the first time in 24 years of working in broadcasting, someone called me a ‘pig.'” The comment affected her more than expected. “As soon as I read that comment, I stopped eating.” Her confession reportedly left everyone in the studio laughing, although it also highlighted the emotional impact harsh online criticism can have even on experienced celebrities.
The episode also teases a humorous moment in which comedians Moon Se Yoon and Jo Jjaezz jokingly walk off the set after Goo Hye Sun demonstrates an example of a hate comment, creating laughter among the cast.

Beyond discussing online criticism, Goo Hye Sun reflected on one of her biggest personal challenges: trekking in the Himalayas. She revealed that her goal was to reach an altitude of 4,300 meters, which she successfully accomplished.
However, the journey proved far more difficult than expected. “The expedition leader told me it would be like casually walking along a trail for ten days. But we ended up climbing continuously for 16 hours a day. I was honestly angry.” Despite the grueling conditions, she persevered and completed the expedition.
Although many assumed she would lose weight after such an intense trek, Goo Hye Sun revealed the opposite happened. After returning home and visiting the hospital, she discovered she had gained 8 kilograms. She explained that the physical demands of the expedition forced her to eat as much as possible. “You simply can’t survive if you don’t eat.”

She jokingly admitted she rewarded herself throughout the trip by eating everything available. “I ate all the food there. I even ate the horse feed, cookies, and sugar cubes meant for the horses.” Her unexpected confession drew laughter from those on set while illustrating just how physically demanding the Himalayan expedition had been.
Goo Hye Sun’s openness about reading hate comments and discussing the emotional impact of online criticism has already drawn attention ahead of the episode’s broadcast. Many fans have praised the actress for her honesty and resilience, while others expressed concern over how deeply negative comments can affect public figures, regardless of their experience in the industry.
